Many things made Giddings an attractive location for the Weird West Fest. In addition to the historic train depot, we will be having a very special event in a century old movie house, the Sterling Movie House.
Before the lavish theatres of the Twenties and Thirties, the storefront was the most common design for theaters built between the years of 1900 and 1919. It was this type of movie house that would have shown THE GREAT TRAIN ROBBERY (1903), the first Western movie.
Frankenstein’s Monster will be shown here during the Weird West Fest, with a portion of the ticket sales going to the restoration fund for the Sterling Movie House
The Weird West Fest is being held this December 7th in Giddings Texas.
