We loved Comicpalooza! The staff was awesome and we had a great time at our forum, “How to Film on a Budget”. The audience asked good questions and we enjoyed speaking with everyone and sharing our experience what it was like to make a microbudget film and little tips and tricks for others to use. Christopher Lowe brought Matt Risoldi’s DYI microphone blimp and we talked tech about the DSLRs. If we have another DYI panel, I’ll make sure we include more about camera tracks and dollies.
The Comicpalooza booth did well. We were next to the Reverent Rangers, who are the founders of the Wierd West Fest where we’ll have a screening in December. Professor Elemental was to our right and the picture below is him flipping the switch of an actual piece from Victor Frankenstein’s laboratory. Splendid!
Our e-mail list serve bloomed to over 220 new members and we’re still growing. We loved speaking to Houstonians about our local project and explaining the upcoming independent film circuit.
Right now the post-production team is putting the finishing touches on the final draft of the film. If all goes well, it’ll be shipped out next week for competitions that begin in October. We’ll keep everyone informed. Our first trailers also should be finished sometime next week.
We’re having a screening at ApolloCon at 4:00pm on June 22nd, 2013. We are looking forwards to it. I can’t wait to show how we brought back the old and made it something new.–Judith
